Supporting children in Foster Care since 2010. We're a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, now with an office in Orange County, California!
Your generous gift will help us fund our mission to help foster children. Together, we can make a difference. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and all contributions are tax deductible.
We've expanded! We have been primarily based in Texas since we began in 2010, but have recently opened an office in Orange County, California due to a growing need in this area.
One of the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic is food insecurity among foster family households. Food insecurity occurs when a household has difficulty providing enough food due to a lack of resources. A large portion of the families we serve (including foster families, adoptive families, or kinship families) report having insufficient funds to purchase food or items for the children they foster or adopt. Please keep in mind that we are serving a large amount of kinship families.
Most requested Items include food, gift cards for food delivery services, and diapers / wipes. Please contact us if you would like to donate any of these items so we can provide them to families in need.
COVID-19 RELIEF EFFORTS
Our Covid 19 relief efforts is focused on these two urgent needs:
1. Food Insecurity: providing food to foster and kinship families who reported they had insufficient funds to purchase food or items for children in their care.
2. Remote Education and Technology Assistance: providing laptops to foster children in Orange County in order to provide remote access to education and tools needed for success.
The vision of Foster Kids Charity is to improve the well-being of children while they are in foster care and to educate volunteers about the foster care system. With increased well-being and awareness, we hope to achieve our goal of increasing the number of adoptions for foster children.
Foster Kids Charity strives to make sure that every child in the foster care system has their basic, personal needs met. This is accomplished by providing foster children with basic emergency items: food, clothes, hygienic products, school supplies and more.
"It is a privilege for me to extend a heartfelt thank you on behalf of the many social workers and children in care for the extremely generous donation of books, activities and personal items. These goodies will serve as a life line for our children as they transition to their first foster car placement(home) or from one foster home to another. Often times, our children leave their homes with little or nothing of their own. This kind gesture gives our children a sense of belonging and hope. It’s a wonderful thing to see children’s faces light-up in the midst of a very challenging and stressful situation .You help make that happen."
- Roylyn Burton, Community Program Specialist, County of Orange Social Services Agency
"I want to thank you for your donation of gift cards. I am in awe of your generosity as the family you are assisting is currently transient. In fact, today I met with one of the parents who informed they had gone without eating as they had spent the last of their money the previous night. What a huge blessing as they will be able to use this donation to purchase food to share with their children during visits. I cannot thank you enough."
- Jackeline Reyes, Senior Social Worker
